中式恐怖有什么特别的地方呢？美国的恐怖片里一般有怪物，非常血腥，常常突然就吓你一跳。日本的恐怖片里一般会有鬼，他们一般攻击人也没有原因。中国的恐怖片里一般没有怪物也没有鬼，但是常常有一些很古老的很传统的东西，比如，穿着传统红色衣服的新娘，奇怪的红色的灯笼，中国的棺材，等等。我们再举一个例子。比如说，当我们说“深夜里的衣柜”，如果有一个怪物趴在衣柜的顶部，突然冲下来咬人，这就是“美式恐怖”；如果柜子看起来很正常，但是当人睡着以后它的门悄悄打开了，这就是“日式恐怖”；如果关灯后柜子看起来有点奇怪，甚至像有一个人站在那儿，但是打开灯以后就正常了，这就是“中式恐怖”。总而言之，“中式恐怖”应该是一种诡异的感觉，也就是看起来好像正常，但是仔细想想又觉得不正常，人们也不知道之后会发生什么。

因为中国有几千年的历史，中国传统的文化里也有很多诡异的习俗。比如，在中国的一些山区里，有一种叫“赶尸人”的职业。当有人在外地去世以后，这些赶尸人要带着他的尸体回去他的家乡。在传说里，赶尸人能控制尸体，让他们排着队往前走。因为这些赶尸人只有在夜晚走路，几乎没有人能看清楚他们。所以，事实上他们真的能控制尸体吗？这个问题到现在也还不太清楚。

中式恐怖里最让人害怕的，还有一种压抑的感觉。中国的恐怖片里，故事一般都发生在偏远的村子或者山区，因为这样的地方的一般非常传统，也有很多诡异的迷信，比如：如果村子里有一个年轻男人和年轻女人去世了，他们的家人会给他们办婚礼，让他们能在另一个世界结婚。人们不可以反抗这些古老的规则，因为所有人都认为这些规则是对的。于是，这也有了一种压抑的感觉。这也是中式恐怖让人害怕的原因。
