3月27日，我看到了一个新闻，李昌钰博士去世了。很多人叫他“华人神探”。华人，就是有中国血统的人。神探，就是那种很快可以找到真相的人，比如夏洛克福尔摩斯。今天，我们来聊一聊李昌钰博士。
李昌钰是一位非常有名的法医专家。“法医”，意思是用科学的方法帮助警察破案的人。1938年，他出生在中国江苏。小时候，他爸爸是富商，他们家很有钱。后来，他爸爸突然去世了，家里也欠了很多钱，他们一家人突然变得很穷。后来他们去了台湾生活，再后来，他一个人去了美国读书。
大家可以想一想，一个年轻人去美国，要用英语学习，还要开始新的生活。这真的很不容易，对吧？一开始，他的英语不好，生活也不容易，但是他没有放弃。后来，他开始做法医的工作，用科学的方法来找证据。“证据”，意思是可以证明事情是真的东西，比如血、头发、指纹。
他做过很多非常有名的案件。比如说，有一个案件，现场只有一点点血。“现场”，意思是事情发生的地方。很多人觉得，这一点点血没有用，但是李昌钰用这滴血，得到很多信息，最后帮警察找到了重要的线索。“线索”，意思是帮助我们找到答案的小信息。
还有一次，一个案子看起来像是“意外”。“意外”，意思是不是故意发生的事情，比如在路上遇到撞车的意外。但是李昌钰仔细检查，发现其实不是意外，而是有人做的，这也帮警察找到了凶手。
他常常会非常仔细地看每一个小细节。“细节”，意思是很小、很小的地方。别人看不到的，他可以看到，所以大家都叫他“神探”。后来，他变得非常有名，也去了很多国家工作，还教很多学生。他也常常鼓励年轻人，不要怕困难，要坚持做自己喜欢的事情。

On 27 March, I saw some news: Dr Henry Lee had passed away. Many people called him the “Chinese Sherlock Holmes”. “Chinese” means someone with Chinese heritage. “Sherlock Holmes” or “神探” means a detective who can find the truth very quickly. Today, let’s talk about Dr Henry Lee.
Henry Lee was a very famous forensic scientist. “Forensic scientist” means someone who uses science to help the police solve crimes. He was born in 1938 in Jiangsu, China. When he was young, his father was a wealthy businessman and the family was rich. Later, his father suddenly passed away, and the family owed a lot of money. Suddenly, they became very poor. They moved to Taiwan, and later Henry went to the United States to study on his own.
Think about it: a young man, going to America, learning in English, and starting a completely new life. That must have been really difficult, right? At first, his English was poor and life was not easy, but he did not give up. Later, he started working in forensic science, using scientific methods to find evidence. “Evidence” means something that can prove the truth, like blood, hair, or fingerprints.
He worked on many very famous cases. For example, in one case, there was only a tiny drop of blood at the scene. “Scene” means the place where something happened. Many people thought such a small drop of blood was useless, but Henry Lee used it to get important information and helped the police find key clues. “Clues” are small pieces of information that help us find the answer.
In another case, it looked like an “accident”. “Accident” means something that was not done on purpose, like a car crash on the road. But Henry Lee checked carefully and found it was not an accident—it was done by someone. This helped the police catch the criminal.
He always looked very carefully at every tiny detail. “Detail” means something very small. He could see things that others could not, which is why people called him a “Chinese Sherlock Holmes”.
