#128 Bye for now England, and Hello Thailand! 再见英国，你好泰国！

最近我非常忙。你们知道我在忙什么吗？我在忙搬家。是的，我搬家了，我从英国的伦敦搬到了泰国的曼谷。这是我这几年里做过的最大的决定。今天，我想和大家聊一聊，我为什么会做这样的决定，也聊一聊一些重要的人生决定。

我在英国已经住了六年多了。我非常喜欢英国，这里的夏天很舒服，这里的乡村有着美丽的风景。我也很喜欢英国人，我有很多非常好的英国朋友。那么，我为什么要离开英国呢？虽然我很喜欢英国，但是我更喜欢在世界各地探索，所以，我找到了在泰国的工作，在一个国际学校做老师。未来两年，我都会在泰国。我可以一边工作，一边探索泰国的文化。住在泰国的时候，我去很多国家旅游也更方便，比如，日本，澳大利亚，越南，马来西亚，等等。同时，因为covid-19的疫情，我已经很久没有回中国看我的家人了，住在泰国的时候，我可以更经常回中国看我的家人。

在我们的人生里，我们需要做很多决定，有一些决定特别重要，甚至会影响我们的人生，这样的决定叫“人生决定”。我认为，我们每个人都会有三个特别重要的人生决定，那就是：在什么地方生活定居，和谁一起生活，还有做什么工作。

对于第一个人生决定“在什么地方生活定居”，我还没有答案。我常常搬家。以前，我从中国搬到英国，现在，我从英国搬到泰国，以后，我也可能会从泰国搬去其他地方。我觉得每一个地方都有好处和坏处，不同年纪的人也会喜欢住在不一样的地方。比如，年轻人可能更喜欢住在城市，老人可能更喜欢住在乡村。在我看来，我应该先去不同的地方探索，再决定在哪儿定居。

对于第二个人生决定“和谁一起生活”，我认为，我们应该和让我们快乐的人一起生活。有些人喜欢独居，因为他们喜欢安静，觉得独居更快乐。有些人喜欢和家人一起生活，因为他们喜欢热闹，觉得和家人一起更快乐。这都没问题。对于第三个决定“做什么工作”，我觉得每一个人的答案可能都不一样。我很喜欢老师的工作，虽然很忙也很累，但是很有意义。我是中学老师，每一次看到学生的进步，我都很快乐。

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to MaoMi Chinese!

I've been really busy lately. Do you know what I've been up to? I've been busy moving. Yes, I've moved from London, England, to Bangkok, Thailand. It's the biggest decision I've made in these past few years. Today, I'd like to chat with all of you about why I made this decision and discuss some important life choices.

I've lived in England for over six years, and I've enjoyed it a lot. The summers here are very pleasant, and the countryside has beautiful scenery. I also like the British people, and I have many wonderful British friends. So, why did I leave England? Well, although I love England, I have an even stronger passion for exploring different parts of the world. That's why I found a job in Thailand, teaching at an international school. I'll be in Thailand for the next two years. This way, I can work while also exploring Thai culture. Living in Thailand also makes it easier for me to travel to many other countries, for example, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and so on. Additionally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a long time since I last visited my family in China. Living in Thailand will allow me to visit them more often.

In our lives, we need to make many decisions, some of which are particularly important and can even impact our entire lives. These are called "life decisions." I believe each of us has three especially crucial life decisions to make: where to live and settle down, whom to live with, and what career to pursue.

As for the first life decision, "where to live and settle down," I don't have a definitive answer yet. I tend to move frequently. In the past, I moved from China to England, and now from England to Thailand. In the future, I might move to other places too. I believe every place has its pros and cons, and different people of different ages may prefer living in different locations. For example, young people might prefer living in cities, while older people might prefer living in the countryside. In my view, I should explore different places first before deciding where to settle down.

Regarding the second life decision, "whom to live with," I think we should live with people who make us happy. Some people enjoy living alone because they cherish the tranquility and find happiness in solitude. Others prefer living with family because they enjoy the company and find joy in togetherness. Both choices are fine.

As for the third decision, "what career to pursue," I believe everyone's answer may differ. I personally love being a teacher, despite the challenges and fatigue that come with the job, as it's very meaningful. I teach at a secondary school, and every time I see my students make progress, it brings me great joy.

After moving, the MaoMi Chinese podcast will continue just like before. I'm looking forward to continuing this learning journey with all of you.
