很久没有和大家聊我们的猫六一了，他也是MaoMi Chinese的吉祥物猫咪。今年2月，六一已经九岁了。六一虽然越来越老，但是他也越来越野了。“野”是什么意思呢？今天，我们一起来聊聊吧！
两年前，因为新工作，我搬家到了泰国的曼谷，但是六一还在英国的乡村，和我老公的妈妈一起住。虽然我们很舍不得六一，但是我们觉得六一在英国的乡村会有更好的生活。他有很大的房子，有很大的花园，很少车，他更自由，也更安全。但是，最近，因为英国的夏天快到了，六一越来越野了。野，意思是wild。我们说野生动物，就是wild animals。
六一很喜欢出去晒太阳，经常晒太阳晒一天，只有吃饭的时候才会回家。兽医说六一有点胖，要减肥，所以家里给他的食物少了一点儿。他很不高兴，就经常去邻居的家要更多吃的。最近，他还经常到家附近的一家馅饼店。馅饼，意思是pasty，是英国的一种很传统的食物。每天早上，他都在馅饼店外面，想进去馅饼店，可能因为馅饼太香了吧！为什么我们会知道呢？因为馅饼店的员工在facebook上发了六一的照片，所以小镇里的人都认识六一了。大家都说，他是一只很调皮的猫。
我们很头疼，因为他越来越野了！野，意思是说他不爱回家，喜欢到处去，喜欢玩。如果你有一个朋友，喜欢天天去酒吧喝酒，总是不回家吃饭，你也可以说：“你怎么天天这么野？”我们也可以说一个人的心野了。说这个人的心野了，意思是他已经不喜欢平时的生活了，喜欢很刺激的东西。比如，一个学生经常玩电脑游戏，现在快考试了，他的心已经野了，不想每天辛苦地学习了。
还有一个词叫“野路子”，意思是一些不太常见，不太常用的方法。如果有人问你：“有什么赚钱的野路子？”这个人的意思是，有没有什么方法，不用辛苦上班，也能很快赚到钱？这个方法，一般是很少人知道的方法。

It’s been a while since we last talked about our cat Louie — he’s also the mascot of MaoMi Chinese. Louie turned nine this February. Although he’s getting older, he’s also getting wilder! So, what does “wild” mean? Let’s chat about it today.
Two years ago, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand, for a new job, but Louie stayed behind in the British countryside, living with my mother-in-law. Although we really miss him, we felt he would have a better life in the countryside. He’s got a big house, a large garden, hardly any cars nearby, so he’s freer and safer. But recently, as the British summer approaches, Louie has been getting wilder and wilder. “Wild” means exactly that — wild. For example, wild animals are animals that live freely in nature.
Louie loves lying in the sun, and he often stays outside all day, only coming home for meals. The vet said Louie is a bit overweight and needs to go on a diet, so he’s been given slightly less food at home. He’s not happy about it at all, so he often visits the neighbours to ask for more food. Lately, he’s even been hanging around a local pasty shop. A pasty is a traditional British food filled with meat and/or vegetables. Every morning, Louie waits outside the shop, trying to get in — probably because the pasties smell too good to resist! How do we know this? Because the staff at the shop posted pictures of him on Facebook, and now everyone in the village knows who Louie is. People say he’s a very cheeky cat.
We’re a bit worried because he’s getting wilder and wilder! Being “wild” means he doesn’t like coming home, enjoys wandering around and playing outside. If you have a friend who always goes out drinking and never comes home for dinner, you could say: “Why are you always so wild these days?”
We also use this word to say someone’s heart has become “wild”. It means the person no longer enjoys their usual life and is looking for more excitement. For example, a student who used to study hard but now only wants to play video games might be described as someone whose heart has gone wild — they don’t feel like studying anymore.
There’s another phrase: “wild methods” (野路子), which means unusual or not-so-common ways of doing something. If someone asks you, “Do you know any wild ways to make money?” they’re asking if there are ways to earn quickly without working a regular job — methods that most people don’t know about.
